2012….. still gotta eat and Project Seen

I was updating my status in FB saying I was marinading pork to make char siew at 1 am on 1st of Jan 2012. Someone commented that I focus on food all the time, my retort?…2012 or 2030, everybody still needs to eat. And so the pigging sessions continue, with a birthday celebration and crabs!

Tak Fok at Jaya One

And look what I got from the birthday girl….(I know, weird she’s the one giving me something, but I did give her a pressie!)

These little mince-tarts were part of a charity project and my friend generously gave us a few. They’re delicious!!! To show my appreciation, I thought I’d post about her project.

Retrieve. Re-route. Revolve.

About Project Seen;
Project SEEN was initiated through the realization that each individual has something that someone else needs. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, purple or green, have gone to college, or have a meal on your table every day. You, as a human being can Support Everyone Else’s Needs. It is our hope that through our ‘micro-projects’, individuals who usually do not think they have anything to offer will be able to contribute even the tiniest fragment of their life to the well being of another individual; be it a friend to talk to, a breakfast on a Saturday morning, or a magazine for a rainy day.

Our goal is to divert unneeded resources from one individual’s life to cater to the needs of another individual. These resources can range from food and medical supplies to emotional support or companionship. We also identify ongoing projects in the Los Angeles area and contribute to their causes by gathering the materials they need or helping with their fundraisers.

While still in its incorporation phase, we are starting to implement several of the micro-projects on the drawing board:

Rounding the Westwood area to connect with and provide breakfast and nutrition information to the homeless;
Collecting used magazines for donation to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The magazines are then distributed to patients in the wards.

Again, Happy New Year!!!!
