We have been waking up to the sound of roosters crowing round the clock. Now, this might sound like I live in some really ‘ulu’ area but the funny thing is, my house is on the border between modernity and somewhat…the old school. I have this high brick fence surrounding my garden. And if you look over this fence, you’ll be surprised to see the scene looks totally different. This picture will tell you what I mean;
This photo was taken literally over the fence. You can see the houses are still made of those zinc roofs and wood walls. They have huge, grassy backyards where they plant fruit trees like bananas or rear free-range chickens. I literally get the sound of nature right in my own house. Goats, birds, crickets…. my son gets so excited everytime he hears a rooster crow and he gets to see where bananas really come from (below);
That aside, here’s a random picture of fruits. We really eat all sorts of fruits in my house and I just captured them for fun to see just how many types we have in the house. 🙂
First row; Asian ‘kam’, calamansis, langsat, papayas
Second row; Soursop, bananas, pomelo, guava
Am really looking forward to the fireworks tonight!!!
