The main event of eve dinner is my dad’s ‘long mien’ or egg noodle in Foochow. If I had it my way, I would call it ‘Dad’s Once a Year Noodle’ because literally it is only prepared once a year by my dad and it is his only time cooking for the entire year. I will do a posting on that hefty dish soon enough as my dad insists he must contribute something to Feats of Feasts. But for now here are some photos of busy activities leading up to dinner;
My son also made his contribution, contribute to mess!
New porcelain ware for the occasion……
Left to right; Abalone, prawns and broccoli; yee sang
Pork and water chestnut meatballs; the ‘long mien’
Chicken feet and clams in sweet, hot sauce; steamed fish
Where was my little man? Fast asleep…..we made him nap a bit so that he’ll be able
to stay up for the firecrackers at midnight!!!
Gong Xi Fa Cai Sharon! All dishes served look so delicious!
