Five-Spice Fried Chicken using a product pre-mix
Sometimes moms need a little help to get meals done quickly. I am on a mission to test out some of these products to see which ones are worth the money and worth the time too.
- 3 tablespoons of Heng's Five Spice Fried Chicken Mix
- 2 tablespoons of potato starch
- 7 tablespoons of water
- 3 tbsp heaping of plain flour
- 1 big tbsp of Heng's Five Spice Fried Chicken Mix
Plop all your drummets into a zip-lock bag.
Mix your marinade together and make it into like a loose paste. Pour it into the bag with the chicken. Seal it and rub it all over the drummets.
Leave it to sit for 1 hour or overnight.
Mix the dusting flour ingredients. Take out the drummets and dust them with the flour.
Heat a wok or deep pan with enough oil for frying. Let it come to frying temp.
Shake off the excess flour and drop it into the hot oil for frying. I fried the drummets twice, First time was 3-4 mins. Second time was about 2 mins in high temp.
Drain on a rack.
