Taco Rice (Takoraisu レシピ)

  • 125 gms ground beef
  • 125 gms ground pork
  • 3 teaspoons chopped garlic
  • 1 fried egg sunny-side up
  • Cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sake
  • water
  • Oil

Taco Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon crushed chilli
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  • Chopped Romaine lettuce you can use butterhead or iceberg
  • Chopped red onion
  • Chopped tomato
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Japanese Mayo
  • Chips of your choice


  • Cook your rice.
  • Mix all the taco seasoning together. You might not use it all.
  • Heat oil in non-stick frying pan. Fry the egg till you have a sunny-side up yolk.
  • Heat some oil again, add chopped garlic. Add ground beef and pork and taco seasoning (you might not need all the amount of seasoning)
  • Cook till browned and aromatic. Add a little cooking sake. Add a little water if it's too dry. Turn off heat.
  • Assemble, start with cooked rice at the bottom, then the meat, then chopped lettuce, tomato and red onion.
  • Add cheese and end with the fried egg on top and chips on the side. Add mayo as and when.
